What does the extra cost buy?
The clearest differences to examine in person are the control interface, the eight-plate versus seven-plate configuration and the available languages. The K8’s touchscreen may appeal if you prefer a visual interface; the SD501DX offers a different control layout at the lower listed price. Try the controls rather than choosing from a photograph alone.
There is no need to assume that a higher price or one extra plate means a better health outcome. The listed rated power is the same for these two models, and rated power does not describe your total monthly electricity bill.
